What happens when a youth pastor in the Quad Cities meets a discouraged missionary in a coffee shop? Eighteen years later, it has led to sponsored children, a water well, new churches and a growing network of missional communities across Kenya.
On this episode of Kenya Kronicles, Ken Peel and Rev. Joshua Ngao of Fishers of Men Ministries sit down with Pastor Justin Dean, lead and founding pastor of Sacred City Church. Justin shares how his youth group sponsored all 30 children Joshua brought to them, what surprised him on his first trip to Kenya, and why he went from suspicious to “all in” once he saw the ministry for himself.
Justin and Joshua explain how missional communities, everyday believers making disciples over meals, service and Scripture, have transformed churches in Kenya. What started with a single training visit has grown to 22 missional communities across 11 churches. They also talk about the hunger for sound biblical teaching, the need to train more pastors in Swahili, and how the ministry is moving forward after the loss of Pastor Kennedy.
