This week I am excited to welcome journalist Chris Bailey to Maybe In Another Generation.


Chris spent 10 years as City’s Chief Correspondent at the Manchester Evening News, before getting the transfer of his dreams to Manchester City, where he became Editor in Chief, and continues to have the honour of sitting down with Khaldoon Al Mubarak at the end of each season. Chris joins us to talk about what it was like having a front row seat for all the drama that unfolded at Maine Rd and the Etihad, between 1999 and 2021.


In the first half of this 2 parter, Chris talks us through his early life following City home and away in the 70’s and 80’s before starting on the path to journalism that took him to the Evening News and reporting on 4 managers, 2 promotions, 1 relegation, 2 takeovers and saying goodbye to Maine Rd.
