How a Single Bottle Cap Injection Actually Turns Feral Ghouls Docile for Exactly Six Hours | Fallout

Dela

Six hours. That is the number everybody knows, the number that gets repeated in bunkers and bars and the back rooms of trading posts from the Divide to the Bay. Six hours of peace. Six hours where a thing that wants to tear your throat out sits quiet, stares at nothing, and does not try to kill you. And then the six hours end, and the question that nobody can answer clean is why exactly that long. Why not four. Why not eight. Why not permanent. I have heard a dozen theories and none of them hold water past the first question, which is always the same one, and it is the question that started all of this in the first place.

The cap does not look like anything special. That is the first thing you have to understand, because everybody who hears the story for the first time expects something dramatic, something with a glow or a hum or a warning label. It is a bottle cap. Sunflower. Pre-war, stamped with a little yellow flower that has faded to the color of old bone. The rim is dented in one place, like somebody dropped it on concrete before the bombs ever fell.
