OpenAI is pulling the official DALL·E GPT inside ChatGPT, and the biggest risk for everyday users is losing access to images you assumed would stay there.
Reports say the retirement happens August 30, 2026, and users were told to download anything they want to keep before the cutoff. Image generation isn’t going away—ChatGPT Images still works (even for free users), and custom GPTs with image generation are unaffected—but the familiar DALL·E “place” is.
