The House, the Light and the Man by Gordon Philip England: Gibson Jenkins, a man already prone to fear, is pushed over the edge when a fall in a department store traps him in a room full of coffins with a "specter" that turns out to be a very literal, flesh-and-blood thief.

An Arc of Direction by Junius B. Smith: A man’s attempt to hide from a prophecy of his own hanging nearly ends in a freak tragedy when a sudden tire blowout sends him tumbling into a tangle of vines that tighten into an eerily accurate, literal noose.
