In this episode, Mikey and I catch up and shoot the proverbial s**t for a bit, then move into a discussion of Baudrillard's interpretation of Bataille's Accursed Share. We unpack the superegoic dimension of how society manages The Accursed Share, touch on why increasingly sophisticated social coordination will not save us from the impending Apocalypse of The Object, and where Baudrillard and Lacan seem to be talking about the same thing; and why that matters.
This was a fun episode to record! I've obviously been a bit absent from the feed for a while, and that will probably remain true for the immediate future, but it's great to have and share conversations like this!
