FDNY Capt. DAN O’SHEA L31 Retired

Today I had the pleasure of choppin’ it up with FDNY Capt. DAN O’SHEA. Capt. O’Shea hails from Queens NY, Attended Sienna College and graduated with a Philosophy degree. He joined the FDNY in JULY of 2002 and assigned to L112 out of Probie school. He was promoted to Lt. in 2008 and assigned to L102. Promoted to Captain in 2016. He did 1 year in the 1st division and transferred to the 6th Division where he was eventually assigned to L31. Capt. O’Shea was awarded the John H Prentice Medal for valor in 2023, for his efforts saving a mother and infant from a fire. He retired December 2025 and is currently a volunteer firefighter for the Warwick Valley FD. He also is an instructor teaching firematics across the country and soon in Latin America.
