What really happens inside a working coven, and is casting a spell anything like people imagine?
In this guest edition of Witchcraft 101, I’m joined by Julie Aspinall, better known as The Coventry Witch. Julie has practised witchcraft for more than 40 years and founded the Warwickshire-based Coven of Gaia to preserve and share knowledge of witchcraft and Pagan traditions.
We talk openly about spells, coven life, practising alongside other witches and what people should understand before seeking out a coven of their own. We also explore Julie’s journey, her book So You Think You Are a Witch? and the thriving Festival for Pagans and Witches she created.
This is a fascinating conversation about lived witchcraft, community and what happens when the craft moves beyond books and social media and into a shared, working practice.
