What if your anger isn’t something you need to get rid of—but something you need to learn how to hear?
In Episode 44, I sit down with Emotional Release Practitioner, Anger Expert, and founder of the Emotional Release Academy (ERA), Ashley Frost, for a powerful conversation about emotional expression, shadow work, somatic healing, and what happens when women finally give themselves permission to feel.
Ashley’s journey into psychosomatics took her deep into the rawest layers of human and physical pain. Through her own experience with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, years of exploring healing modalities, and eventually discovering somatics and emotional release, she learned how to alchemize pain into power. Today, she is a torchbearer for emotional ownership, shadow work, and healing that brings what has been hidden back into the light.
Together, we explore why emotional release isn’t simply about screaming, raging, or getting an emotion out of the body. It’s about reconnecting to the experience of being human and developing the capacity to witness what’s actually there.
We talk about:
- Why so many women have been conditioned to believe anger is wrong
- The difference between reacting from anger and responding from it
- Anger as intelligence, clarity, and a signal of crossed boundaries
- Inner-child work and reparenting the parts of ourselves still seeking safety
- Why healing doesn’t have to involve a huge cathartic release
- The importance of titration, slowness, and nervous-system capacity
- The danger of pushing the body beyond what it’s ready to process
- The facilitator’s responsibility to release the need to “make” something happen
- Why witnessing is such a powerful component of healing
- The truths that can surface when we finally stop suppressing ourselves
- How emotional healing can change relationships, careers, and entire lives
- Moving beyond helplessness and learning to become deeply self-resourced
- Giving women permission to take up space
Ashley also shares why real emotional work is not about living in blind rage. Healthy anger can be grounded, precise, embodied, and incredibly clear.
This conversation is an invitation to stop abandoning the emotions that make you uncomfortable and begin listening to the intelligence they carry.
Because becoming a powerful woman isn’t about never feeling anger.
It’s about becoming a woman who can feel the full range of herself—and trust herself enough to hold what she finds.
