Halloween can bring up a lot of questions for Orthodox Christian families. Can we participate? What about costumes and trick-or-treating? Is there a difference between harmless fun and participating in things that are spiritually harmful?
In this episode of Veiled in Grace, Kyra and Anna have an honest and down-to-earth conversation about Halloween through an Orthodox Christian lens. We talk about the history of Halloween, the importance of Christian discernment, costumes, trick-or-treating, the occult, raising children in the faith, and the different ways Orthodox families may choose to approach the holiday.
Rather than simply asking, “Can Orthodox Christians celebrate Halloween?” we want to take a deeper look at how we can approach these cultural traditions with wisdom, peace, and our eyes fixed on Christ.
“Test all things; hold fast what is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21☦️
