In this episode of Redefining Possible with Peyton Hoffman, Peyton sits down with Pastor Charles Brown, a West Los Angeles native, pastor, leadership coach, and founder of Cedar Leadership, for a conversation about faith, leadership, church planting, organizational alignment, and following a calling through different seasons of life.
Pastor Charles shares the story of his dramatic encounter with the Holy Spirit in Santa Barbara that led to his conversion, followed by his early years in ministry and his journey into senior pastoral leadership in the San Francisco Bay Area. He discusses leading a large church through significant changes, planting a new church with his wife in San Mateo, and overseeing church planting throughout the Bay Area.
After stepping down from pastoral leadership and returning to Los Angeles, Charlie transitioned back into finance before being asked to relationally coach growing churches. That work eventually led to the creation of Cedar Leadership, a dedicated to coaching and training pastors in leadership development.
Today, Charlie works with associations, global networks, sending churches, international church plants, and businesses on leadership development and organizational alignment. He also shares the importance of family, faith, and a life of service, reflecting on 40 years of marriage to Carolyn and their family’s deep involvement in ministry.
