Raised in a strict Italian household in Boston, Tyler was determined to live differently. She began exotic dancing at 18, entered adult films through Pleasure Productions and eventually stepped away from the industry for a relationship that left her feeling suppressed.
Everything changed when Jill Kelly offered her a contract.
Tyler takes us inside the era when adult performers signed exclusive studio deals, appeared in magazines, travelled for feature dancing and starred in elaborate productions with scripts, storylines and creative control. She explains how Jill Kelly became both her mentor and lifelong friend, and the most important lesson she taught her: you can always say no.
We discuss the realities of working in adult entertainment before VIP Channels, how much freedom contract performers actually had, and why Tyler believes today's newcomers shouldn't feel pressured to do everything to become successful.
Tyler also opens up about launching her own production company, navigating relationships that became intertwined with business, and the burnout that eventually led her to leave Los Angeles and return to Boston.
