Stacy Moore, a 30-year veteran of special education in Scottsbluff Public Schools, is being honored with the prestigious Freda Drath Battey Distinguished Educator Award—alongside Mitchell High School’s Doug Waggoner—for transforming classrooms through unwavering dedication. Moore champions inclusive education through her groundbreaking Able Academy program, pairing students with disabilities and peer companions to build empathy, advocacy, and lifelong friendships. Both educators exemplify the award’s spirit: honoring teachers who turn passion into powerful, lasting impact for every student they touch.
