Jordan Staal is back for another season with the Carolina Hurricanes on a lucrative one-year deal worth up to $10 million, cementing his role as the franchise’s bedrock. At 38, he’s still delivering elite play — 20 goals and 16 assists last season, plus 12 playoff points including 8 goals that earned him the Conn Smythe Trophy. General Manager Eric Tulsky praised his leadership and possession control as vital to Carolina’s Stanley Cup run in 2026, making his return a no-brainer for a team hungry for more glory.
