Dimension X, episode 22, “The Roads Must Roll,” originally broadcast on NBC on September 1, 1950. Adapted by Ernest Kinoy from Robert A. Heinlein’s celebrated short story, the production was directed by Edward King and features Norman Rose as narrator.
In a future America, enormous rolling roads have replaced cars and trucks, carrying people and freight across a nation dependent on their constant motion. When the engineers who maintain this vast transportation system challenge its authority, the indispensable roads become the center of a growing crisis.
