Judie Burroughs has been neck-deep in the spiritual and darker arts since birth. She grew learned from her grandmother, used her Baby Alive doll as a voodoo doll at age five, and currently owns a real human skull. Normal stuff.
In this episode, Judie breaks down the real mechanics of candle work, root work, hoodoo, voodoo, and hexing, including why botching a hex can literally kill you or destroy your mind. She walks through a chaotic exorcism where the spirit body-jumped three people including herself, leaving her blacked out behind a tree for seven hours. She explains why alcohol is literally called "spirits" and shares a case where a woman killed her child after a spirit attachment during a drinking binge.
Judie also gets into her celebrity clientele: spellwork for rappers and athletes involving bones, blood, automatic writing, and jars buried in her backyard. She talks about the dangers of TikTok tarot readers opening portals they can't close, a 15-year-old who stopped speaking English after going too deep into YouTube tarot, and a local preacher who hired her to help him quietly divorce his wife and move to California with his secret boyfriend.
Then there's Joy, a haunted doll that put Judie's son in the ER as a DOA within hours of arriving at her house. Joy now lives alone, bound, in a storage unit. Her store assistant went insane trying to work with Joy, ended up in the woods ripping the head off a white pigeon and pouring its blood on herself.
The episode ends with a live session: Judie sets up Zanzibar the Clown and Faith on camera and uses a ghost communicator. The responses "you shouldn't be here," "leave me alone," "play with me" come through clear enough to make your skin crawl.
