Two weeks of pure adjustment on Kauai. Hurricane Lala hit, we had a multi-day fight neither of us saw coming, our household goods finally arrived after a month of living out of suitcases, and we're starting to feel like we actually live here.

What we get into:

  • Weathering our first hurricane — 35 mph sustained winds, no power loss, and the strange energy that came with it
  • The multi-day argument that showed up right in the middle of the storm and what it revealed about giving each other grace during massive life change
  • The moment we found out our containers had been sitting in Lihue for days and the mad scramble to get everything home
  • Still waiting on the truck, a minor parking-lot bumper kiss, and the reality of island logistics
  • Falling hard for home workouts with bands and the new dumbbells
  • What it feels like to walk into a house that finally has our things, our crystals, and our own rhythm again

August was survival mode. We're moving out of it. One hurricane, one hard conversation, one U-Haul load at a time.
