The World Masters Athletics Championships 2026 are underway in Daegu – and this event is about much more than medals and results.

More than 100 nations have come together in Daegu, while around 20,000 spectators turned the opening ceremony into a spectacular show with K-pop, fireworks, drones and athletes marching into the stadium.
