'Majesty' was written by Jack Hayford. The inspiration for this great song was created while the writer and his wife were vacationing through the United Kingdom. Traveling through the historic countryside, he noticed how the symbols of royalty, castles, and extravagant elegance captivated the culture. This produced a deep spiritual realization that while earthly royalty is majestic, the true, ultimate "kingdom authority" belongs solely to Jesus.
Sitting in their rental car, the main concept of this song and the melody of the chorus began to flood his mind. He understood that the song wasn't meant to be just an intellectual praise of God's power, but a realization that when believers worship, they are positioned to let Jesus' royal authority flow through them. Upon returning home, he finalized the lyrics, specifically anchoring them to Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection ("Jesus who died...now glorified...king of all kings")
