When you're faced with naysayers who don't believe in you, your vision, or your ability to be successful, what do you do — succumb to self-doubt, or use their rejection as fuel for your own growth?

Kim Perell spent much of her childhood comparing herself to her twin sister. Early on, she had already convinced herself she was less capable, carrying those limiting beliefs into adulthood even as she worked relentlessly to prove otherwise. Then, just as the dot-com boom was taking off, Kim walked away from the safe corporate path she had planned for herself and borrowed $10,000 from her grandmother to start a company of her own. She bet on herself, building and eventually selling the business before turning her attention to investing in and mentoring other entrepreneurs. In this episode, Kim joins Tim to talk about overcoming self-doubt, the power of execution, why adaptability matters more than certainty, and how some of life's biggest mistakes can become the foundation for extraordinary success.
