Hello. My name is Lidia.

You’re listening to a podcast in Russian - slow, simple, and real.

If you’re just beginning to learn Russian, or if you’ve already started but miss regular practice … this podcast can be your quiet space to return to the language.

Each episode is like a small training: listen and repeat.

I’m a teacher of Russian as a foreign language. And I’ve created this podcast for those who want to practice regularly, to feel more confident, to speak more clearly and grow naturally.

Welcome! Let’s begin.

When I started learning Russian, I read a story by Chekhov. I learned how people lived in Russia in the 19th century. I think literature helps to understand the country.

My group and I went on an excursion to St. Petersburg. We listened to the guide, saw palaces and museums. I realized that knowing the language means understanding culture and history.

I watch Russian films. I see how people talk, how they live, what they eat. I hear real speech and understand traditions. Films help to learn the language and culture together.

I read books in Russian. The books have a lot of interesting things about life in Russia, about holidays, about family. I read and think: “This is a different culture, and it’s very interesting.”

When I learn Russian, I learn not only words. I learn how Russian people think. I see that language and culture always go together. Without the language, you cannot understand the culture.

Thanks for listening to Easy Russian Practice. See you soon!
