The Guardians are in crunch time with just nine games left, but a major blow hits as key hitters Chase DeLauter and Angel Martínez go down with injuries. DeLauter’s wrist flare-up and Martínez’s right flank issue—possibly swing-related—could sideline them for weeks, threatening Cleveland’s division push. With Petey Halpin and David Fry stepping up, the team faces a steep challenge replacing two of its most productive bats. Still, there’s hope: DeLauter has history of bouncing back strong after injury, even hitting a home run in his first game back last season. But without their firepower, the Guardians’ playoff hopes hang by a thread.
