Most conversations about heartbreak end in the same place: how to leave, how to heal, how to finally move on.

This one starts there.

Breakup and mindset coach Rebecca Layla knows heartbreak from the inside. She grew up with instability, spent years drawn to emotionally unavailable partners, and did the work to break those patterns. Today she has the knowledge, the insight and the tools. What she doesn’t have yet is the kind of relationship she’s talking about. Neither do I. We’re all still learning.

So instead of answers, we explore the strange territory after healing. How do you tell chemistry from activation? Why can consistent love feel uncomfortable after a lifetime of inconsistency? Can boundaries quietly become walls? Can love feel deeply safe and still fully alive?

Along the way, Rebecca pushes back on some of healing culture’s favourite rules: that butterflies always mean trauma, that we need to diagnose everyone we date, and that safe relationships have to be beige.

We also return to an idea at the heart of this season: collecting maps. We all carry a map shaped by what we’ve lived, loved, lost and learned. Perhaps intimacy isn’t about finding someone with the same map, but becoming curious enough to understand each other’s, and brave enough to see whether they point in the same direction.

A conversation about what comes after moving on, and about becoming someone capable of recognising, receiving and building the right one.

Stay curious. Stay honest. Stay present. Stay human.
