In 1997, 20-year-old Shalimar Seiuli suddenly found herself at the centre of one of Hollywood’s biggest tabloid scandals after she was picked up in West Hollywood by Eddie Murphy. Murphy was questioned by police but was not arrested or charged, while Shalimar was taken into custody on an outstanding prostitution warrant. Murphy maintained that he had simply offered her a lift home.Less than a year later, Shalimar was dead at just 21 years old.
