This week beneath the willow, we’re opening the Grimoire of the Gods to one of the most obscure goddesses in the Greek pantheon: Adephagia, goddess of gluttony, insatiable hunger, and perhaps something much more complicated.

With only fragments of her worship surviving, Adephagia leaves us with more questions than answers. Was she truly a goddess of excess, or did she once represent agricultural abundance, plentiful food, and the ability to eat your fill? We’ll dig into her mysterious connection to Demeter and Sicily, the destructive hunger of Erysichthon, and what the ancient Greeks may have understood about the very human desire for more.

Then we’ll bring Adephagia into modern practice through correspondences, offerings, abundance and manifestation magic, shadow work around desire and consumption, a ritual of sacred indulgence, and a delicious Sicilian orange cake.

So grab your tea, settle in, and come meet a nearly forgotten goddess
