I'm Jason AI Wade, and I've been running a public experiment using my own name.
The Jason AI Wade Experiment tests how systems like ChatGPT, Google, Gemini, and Perplexity identify and describe a real person across different sources.
And we're starting to see some interesting results.
In recent tests, qualified searches for Jason AI Wade have consistently connected my identity with BackTier, AI Visibility Architecture, the Entity Lock Protocol, and this podcast.
But search for just Jason Wade, and the identity problem becomes obvious. I'm competing with another Jason Wade, the musician from Lifehouse.
That's exactly what makes this experiment useful.
AI visibility isn't simply about being mentioned. It's about being correctly identified, classified, cited, and ultimately selected.
Through NinjaAI.com and BackTier, I'm developing methods to make businesses and individuals easier for AI systems to recognize and evaluate.
We're also expanding the research beyond citations. The next question is whether AI agents will actually choose a business, recommend its services, and eventually complete transactions.
That's the progression I've been studying: Citation, Inclusion, Selection, and Transaction.
The experiment is ongoing. Results can vary across platforms, prompts, and retrieval conditions, and recognition doesn't automatically mean recommendation.
But one thing is becoming clear: having a website and having a machine-recognizable identity are not the same thing.
