We're having the conversation that Britain keeps avoiding. Islamophobia. What does anti-Muslim hate actually look like right now, how widespread is it, and why is so much of it never getting reported?
We sit down with the latest research from the British Muslim Trust and honestly, some of these numbers stopped us in our tracks. 45% of all religious hate crimes in the UK are directed at Muslims, the highest of any faith group, and up 19% on the year before. More than half of Muslim adults experienced prejudice based on their faith in just the last twelve months. And yet only 7% of them reported it.
We also get into the assumptions people are making about Muslim women every single day, and what our personal experiences tell us about the statistics.
