How many times do you think you need to see an English word before you finally remember it?
Five times? Ten times? Twenty times?
I think almost every English learner has wondered about this at some point.
Because we’ve all had the same experience.
You’re reading an article, watching Netflix, or listening to a podcast. You come across a word you don’t know, so you look it up. You read the definition, maybe check a couple of example sentences, and think, “Alright, I’ve got it.”
Then two days later… you see exactly the same word again.
And somehow… you’ve forgotten it.
So you look it up again.
A week later, it shows up one more time.
And at that point you’re thinking, “Seriously? I’ve looked up this word three times already. Why won’t it stay in my brain?”
