Bob Muzikowski’s work helped inspire the movie Hardball, starring Keanu Reeves. But the real story goes far beyond a baseball team. After moving near one of Chicago’s most dangerous housing projects, Bob began playing baseball with children in the neighborhood. What started with a few kids grew into one of the largest inner-city Little League programs in the country. Bob later helped establish Chicago Hope Academy, a Christian college and life-preparatory school serving students on Chicago’s West Side.In this episode of the 100X Podcast, Bob shares why lasting change requires more than good intentions or donations. It requires presence, relationships, sacrifice and a willingness to move toward people and places others would rather avoid. We discuss faith in action, building trust in struggling communities, using business experience for a greater purpose and why you do not have to fix an entire city to make a meaningful difference. Sometimes change begins with one baseball field, one school or one adult who refuses to leave.Bob’s story challenges us to stop waiting for someone else to solve the problems in front of us and ask a more personal question: What can I do with what I already have?Subscribe to the 100X Podcast for more conversations about faith, leadership, generosity and using your life to create lasting impact. The 100X Podcast is sponsored by Anchor Investments, whose mission is to build America’s most generous real estate company.
