Republicans are mounting an inquisition against young Washington DC staffers who might be "Groypers". But they aren't just talking about fans of Nick Fuentes. "Groyper" is being used as a slur for anyone who disagrees with the GOP consensus of permissive immigration policy, interventionist foreign policy, and indifference to demographic change as America becomes minority white.
This is a political purge disguised as a moral panic. It's a containment operation by a faction of the right who have lost the argument, but are desperate to preserve the post-War consensus by any means necessary.
What the commentators pushing this never ask is: why have they lost young men? If they really were worried about radicalisation, they would address their concerns and offer a substantive alternative. Instead, they dismiss complaints about inflation as entitlement and socialism; refuse to represent their interests, while playing identity politics for other groups; and abandon institutions to leftist capture, because to use power would be unprincipled and Hitlerian.
The establishment right, in both the US and Britain, is more afraid of the young men on their own ostensible side, than the rabid left and anti-white minorities who aren't shy about their intent to dispossess them of their property and country. It's because those men are the product of their failure, and don't share any of their liberal priors.
They have nothing to offer young men. They gatekeep them out of institutions and exclude them from these conversations. They aren't interested in listening; only posturing and endlessly discussing the problem on podcasts, then countersignalling anyone who proposes a solution. The only way through this bottleneck in political discourse is to step over them if they refuse to engage, and to take our own side no matter what names they call us.
