This story takes us to the streets of Madinah, where the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ showed the world what true kindness looks like. Even when a neighbor repeatedly tried to trouble him, he responded with patience and calm. And when one morning the path was finally clear, the Prophet ﷺ did something unexpected — he went to check on her.

This story reminds us that sometimes difficult behavior hides unseen struggles, and that Islam teaches us to respond with compassion rather than anger.

As the Qur’an teaches, the truly good are those who “encourage one another to patience and encourage one another to compassion.” (Qur’an 90:17).

Ramadan is a time to practice that same patience and mercy — checking on neighbors, helping those in need, and choosing kindness even when it isn’t easy.
