Today’s guest is Linda Åkeson McGurk, author of There’s No Such Thing as Bad Weather and The Open-Air Life, writer, speaker, and the voice behind Rain or Shine Mamma.
Linda’s work has deeply shaped my own parenting and the entire philosophy behind My Outdoorsy Mom. In this conversation, we talk about what it means to raise kids with a real relationship to nature, why outdoor play is not a luxury, and how the Scandinavian concept of friluftsliv can help families build simple, everyday rhythms outside.
This episode is a full-circle moment for me, because Linda’s first book was one of the sparks that helped me begin getting my own kids outside every day when I had three kids under three.
