To kick off spooky season in style, in this special episode of Live from Manchester Morgue, we sit down with filmmaker Damien Fannon, director of the upcoming horror film Ivan, ahead of its screening at Grimmfest 2026 in Manchester.

Damien talks about the inspiration behind Ivan, bringing the film from concept to screen, the challenges of independent filmmaking, and what audiences can expect when Ivan arrives at Grimmfest. We also discuss the creative process behind the film, working with cast and crew, and the experience of bringing a new horror movie to one of the UK’s best-known genre film festivals.

With Grimmfest 2026 bringing another lineup of horror, genre and independent cinema to Manchester, this episode offers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the films featured at this year’s festival.

Whether you’re a fan of horror films, independent cinema, British filmmaking, Grimmfest, or director interviews, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.
