Harvest Spice Masterclass: Why This Is My Favorite Diffuser Blend
Fall is a feeling.
Warm. Gathered. Grounded. Safe. Everybody home.
And honestly? I want my house to feel like that way more than just three months out of the year.
That’s why Harvest Spice has been my favorite diffuser blend for years, and why I stock up when it comes back around.
In this episode, I’m breaking down what makes this blend so special, what’s actually inside it, why scent can have such a powerful connection to memory and emotion, and how I use Harvest Spice throughout my home all year long.
🌿 What’s inside Harvest Spice?
There are just six essential oils in the blend:
- Cassia
- Clove
- Eucalyptus
- Cedarwood
- Nutmeg
- Cinnamon Bark
Together, they create that warm, spicy, cozy aroma; but each oil also brings something different to the blend.
Cassia brings that unmistakable warmth.
Cinnamon softens it and gives it that “something is baking” feeling.
Clove adds depth.
Eucalyptus keeps the blend from feeling too heavy.
Cedarwood grounds everything.
And Nutmeg ties the spice and wood notes together.
🧠 Why scent matters so much
One of my favorite parts of this episode is talking about the connection between smell, memory, and emotion.
Scent has a very direct connection to the parts of the brain involved in memory and emotion, which is why one smell can instantly take you back to your grandmother’s kitchen, a childhood holiday, or a specific season of life.
And that also means we can intentionally create new scent associations.
I love diffusing Harvest Spice around the same time of day, especially when everyone is coming home, because over time, that aroma becomes connected with:
We’re home.
We’re together.
The day is winding down.
You’re not just making your house smell good.
You’re creating an anchor.
✨ My favorite Harvest Spice diffuser recipes:
Harvest Spice is beautiful on its own, but I also love using it as a base and changing the vibe.
The Vanilla One
- 8 drops Harvest Spice
- 3 drops Vanilla
Softer, sweeter, and a little more bakery-inspired.
The Bright One
- 8 drops Harvest Spice
- 2–3 drops Wild Orange
This is one of my favorites for August and September when you still want that lighter, fresher feeling.
Extra Spicy
- 8 drops Harvest Spice
- 1–2 drops Cinnamon Bark
Perfect for fall gatherings, Sunday dinners, and that full-on baking aroma.
The Cabin
- 8 drops Harvest Spice
- 4 drops Cedarwood
- 2 drops Siberian Fir
This one smells like a cabin in the woods and is so good for cooler evenings.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
- 8 drops Harvest Spice
- 3 drops Vanilla
- 2 drops Cardamom
If you want your house to smell like a coffee shop without actually drinking another PSL… this is the one. 😅
🏡 Where I use it:
Harvest Spice goes everywhere in my house.
🚽 Bathroom: I love using it in a motion-sensor diffuser because nobody remembers to spray anything after they leave the bathroom.
🍳 Kitchen: Especially after cooking, or when everyone is starting to come home for the evening.
🚪 Entryway: Your home’s scent is one of the first things people experience when they walk through the door.
🛋️ Living spaces: Great for that warm, gathered feeling when people are hanging out.
🛏️ Guest rooms: A simple way to make the room feel cozy and welcoming before someone arrives.
One of my favorite tricks is simply running the diffuser about 30 minutes before guests come over.
🤍 Why I stock up
Harvest Spice is only available for part of the year, and I personally use it far beyond fall.
February? Absolutely.
April? Yep.
July? Also yes.
Stock up now! https://link.doterra.com/r9LJyG
Because the feeling I want from it has nothing to do with the calendar.
I want my home to feel warm, grounded, inviting, and familiar all year long.
So here’s my challenge:
Pick one room, one transition, and two weeks.
Maybe it’s dinner prep.
Homework time.
Sunday reset.
The end of your workday.
Diffuse the same scent at the same time and see what kind of association your home starts to build around it.
Because sometimes the smallest rituals end up becoming the ones your family remembers most. 🤍
