It's back to the unfathomable depths of the Ingmar Bergman well, with his follow-up to Persona (1968) known as Hour of the Wolf. This soul-searingly semiautobiographical, misunderstood masterpiece chronicles the struggle of a retired artist against his repressed demons.

Along the way Fox, Marcy, and Laura learn all about the vampiric thrall of The Hat Woman, the questionable morality of murdering ankle-biting boys, and how these forces combined might just ruin ones island getaway with even the most impossibly-compassionate pregnant wife.
