Christine Dürschner on healing, conflict and building social competence collectively

In this episode, I speak with Christine Dürschner, an organism developer, possibility coach, and community consultant who has lived at Schloss Glarisegg since 2011. Christine shares her view on how regeneration goes further than sustainability: rather than simply preserving a system that no longer serves us, it means building rich social soil so that something new and still unknown can grow.

I ask her how communities recognize when they need this kind of collective healing, and she describes how conflict, circular decision-making, and stuck power dynamics are usually the symptoms that signal a community has reached its edge.

Christine shares how communities and organizations can move from what she calls drama chaos into golden chaos by practicing vulnerability, honest conversation, and radical responsibility together. We discuss how radical responsibility is not about carrying guilt for the world's problems, but about recognizing our own patterns of dominance, rank, and avoidance, and choosing to grow beyond them for the good of the whole group.

This episode is for anyone living in or building an intentional community, co-housing project, or values-driven organization who feels stuck in recurring conflict or shallow structural fixes and egos. The key lesson is that regenerative culture cannot simply be installed through frameworks. It requires ongoing practice of vulnerability, honest feedback, and a willingness to sit with discomfort as a group. Christine's biggest insight is that healing and transformation are not soft extras, but the actual fertilizer that allows collective intelligence and true collaboration to grow.
