After hearing Supernova finally perform (with Dilana) on Wednesday, I was excited that they had at least previewed how they'd come off as a band. But as I've thought about it, I've felt more ambivalent about their sound. The great thing about the Rock Star show is that you don't have to LOVE the band to get into it. After all, INXS isn't really one of my faves, but I totally enjoyed trying to figure out which singer was right for them. Maybe it's the "matchmaking" that appeals to me.I was disappointed that Supernova didn't have a heavier sound. I didn't expect them to be particularly alternative but at the same time, I also didn't expect them to be so 80s Top 40 rock. Let's give them a chance - it was only one song. And I really did think they looked like a band up there with Dilana - again, let's give the other rockers a chance and see how they influence the sound.I have to think some more about this - I plan to post a podcast on Sunday nights with additional thought about our first exposure to Supernova's sound.
