BACKGROUND / SUMMARY
David Wolfe visits Ars Biomedica in Driebergen, the Netherlands, for a conversation with bioresonance practitioner Rogier Zwijsen. Rogier explains his view that the body is both physical and energetic and describes how bioresonance may be used to identify imbalances and support the body’s self-healing capacity. He also shares his nine-step approach to recovery, beginning with vitality and mitochondrial support before progressing to nutrition, nervous-system balance and, ultimately, detoxification. Throughout the episode, Rogier emphasizes personalized care and the importance of moving slowly with people who are seriously depleted.
Rogier Zwijsen has spent more than 40 years exploring complementary medicine. He began searching for more effective approaches to healing after witnessing serious illness within his own family. Moving beyond his training in psychology, Rogier continued his education in homeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, herbalism, and Ayurveda before discovering bioresonance and opening his clinic. And with his training and clinical experience, he has discovered this truth: healing should be personalized, carefully paced, and focused on rebuilding the body’s capacity to recover.
🥑 EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
1. Rogier’s Background and Search for Effective Healing
Rogier studied psychology at university but felt that it did not offer the kind of healing approach he wanted to pursue. He continued with training in homeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, herbalism, and Ayurveda.
His interest in healing was shaped by his mother’s chronic illness and the loss of his nephew Karel to liver cancer. These experiences strengthened his determination to find approaches that went beyond symptom suppression.
As an early adopter of bioresonance technology, Rogier became one of the first practitioners using the technology in the Netherlands. He describes bioresonance as a way of working with the biological and energetic field of the body. In his view, the body contains harmonious and disharmonious patterns that may be detected and influenced.
2. David’s Early Experience with Bioresonance
Bioresonance uses an input-and-output process in which information from the body or from specific substances is processed and returned in a different form.
David shares an experience from the early 2000s involving mosquitoes in his New York apartment.
He placed captured mosquitoes into a bioresonance device, transferred the output into water, and sprayed the water around his home. He describes this experience as an early turning point in his belief that frequency-based technology could produce noticeable effects.
David and Rogier discuss the idea that the human body is more than physical matter.
They refer to chakras, meridians, the aura, quantum physics, simulation theory, and the view that life operates through energy, vibration, and information.
3. The Origins of Bioresonance Technology
Rogier recounts a story about an early healer who received detailed information about bioresonance during a visionary experience. According to the story, the healer wrote down the information and worked with a technically skilled family member to build one of the first devices.
A skilled healer may function in a way similar to a bioresonance device, and people may harmonize their own energy and act as channels for healing. Bioresonance machines, however, can provide a more standardized system for many different patients.
4. Rogier’s Meningitis Infection & Near-Death Experience
In 2014, Rogier developed acute bacterial meningitis while working at the clinic. He describes collapsing, entering a coma, leaving his body, and experiencing other realms of consciousness.
After returning, he felt that his life purpose was to continue developing and sharing his healing work.
During the early stages of recovery, his brain function was severely affected, and he initially experienced paralysis and difficulty walking. Rogier used herbs, energy practices, movement, connection with Nature, and what he describes as spiritual guidance during his recovery.
He returned to movement and work more quickly than expected and developed an herbal formula intended to support the brain and nervous system.
5. The Self-Healing Capacity Scale
Rogier introduces a scale representing different levels of the body’s self-healing capacity. This scale helps estimate how much support a person may need and how slowly treatment should proceed.
At the upper end, a person feels vital and responds well to stressors. At lower levels, vague symptoms, chronic illness, severe disease, and immobility may develop.
* Step One: Balancing the Five Elements and Restoring Mitochondrial Function
* Step Two: Biochemistry and Nutrient Utilization
* Step Three: Regeneration: Peptides and Repair Mechanisms
* Step Four: Immune Deficiency and Confusion (autoimmunity)
* Step Five: Neuro-Body Regulation
* The Pituitary-Hypothalamic Block
* Step Six: Increase O₂ & Lifeforce Capacity
* Qigong and Breathing Exercises
* Step Seven: Parasympathetic - Sympathetic Balance
* Everyday, Emotional, and Karmic Stress
* Step Eight: Nutritional Status
* Food Intolerances and Individualized Diets
* Vegetarianism and Changing the Diet Gradually
* Fasting as Part of Healing
* Step Nine: Strong Detoxification — The Big Wash
* Electromagnetic Exposure
* Radiation Exposure
* Heavy Metals and Chemical Exposures
* Parasites and Chronic Illness
* Fungi, Mold, and Mycotoxins
* Bacteria and Viruses
* Pharmaceutical and Hormonal Residues
* Vaccine-Related Burdens
* Strengthening the Liver and Kidneys
Rogier discusses Herxheimer-type reactions in which symptoms may temporarily intensify during detoxification.
6. Moving Slowly with The Elements
Rogier openly discusses mistakes he made earlier in his career by trying to detoxify very sick patients too quickly.
He learned that severely depleted people may become worse if the body is asked to process more than it can manage. Rogier’s daughter, for example, experienced severe neuro-Borreliosis and neurological inflammation. Attempts to address microorganisms directly made her condition worse. So he shifted to supporting the water element, mitochondria, and foundational vitality before progressing further.
For extremely weak patients, Rogier may begin only with the water element. Once the person becomes more stable, then he may introduce the earth element and later the fire element. This illustrates how slowly treatment may need to proceed.
Lastly, Rogier expects patients to participate actively in the healing process.
Treatment cannot replace the individual’s own effort.
7. Traveling to Ars Biomedica
The clinic is located in Driebergen, near Utrecht and within reach of Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport. International patients sometimes stay nearby for two to four weeks and complete a concentrated series of treatments.
David describes Ars Biomedica as a “Superhero Headquarters” and encourages people to explore facilities like it before becoming seriously ill. He compares the experience to visiting a gym, sauna, or rejuvenation center and presents it as part of an active health routine.
FINAL THOUGHTS / KEY TAKEAWAYS
Rogier’s approach begins by asking how much strength the body currently has and what it can safely manage. Rather than attacking every suspected problem at once, he focuses first on rebuilding energy, organ function, immunity, and nervous-system balance.
The nine-step model includes the five elements, mitochondria, nutrient utilization, peptides, immunity, brain-body communication, oxygenation, nervous-system balance, diet, and detoxification.
The conversation also emphasizes that healing is highly individual. The same protocol, food, or pace may not work for everyone, especially when the body is severely depleted.
The larger message is that healing is not passive. Treatments may offer support, but the individual must also participate through nutrition, breathing, meditation, rest, and gradual lifestyle change.
