Have you ever worked from morning until night, only to look around and wonder what you actually accomplished?
The dishes may be done, the laundry may be moving, and everyone may be fed—but the projects that could make life easier keep getting pushed to another day. I understand that frustration. As I prepare to begin driving a school bus part-time this winter, I am taking an honest look at how much time my home’s essential maintenance requires and what room will realistically remain for progress.
In this episode, we are separating your responsibilities into two categories: maintenance work and progress work. We will talk about why both matter, how to determine your maintenance baseline, and how to protect even a small amount of time for the projects and systems that will move your home, farm, or business forward.
You do not need to feel guilty for prioritizing the work that keeps your household functioning. But you also do not have to remain trapped in systems that are always one missed day away from falling apart.
Listen in, friend, and let’s create a more honest, sustainable way to care for what you have while continuing to build the life you are working toward.
