On 19 October, policy makers, scientists, business leaders, and civil society actors will convene in Yerevan, Armenia for the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, otherwise known as CBD COP17.
At the conference the attention will shift from the promises made to stop biodiversity loss to the actual results. To frame this shift in focus, a Global Review of collective progress in the implementation of the GBF will be presented to the Parties for their endorsement.
What does the Global Review say about the state of play going into CBD COP17? Which targets are the most off track and why? And why might COP17 be important to business and finance professionals?
To help us understand what’s at stake at COP17 we speak to Ms. Jillian Cambell, the Senior Advisor in the Office of the Executive Secretary for the Secretariate of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
