Summer's almost done, and a new year is right around the corner. Here's something most kids never realize: they get a say in what kind of friend they're going to be this year. It's not just something that happens to them. It's something they can decide. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin opens Proverbs 27:17, where iron sharpens iron. The right kind of friend doesn't just hang around, they make each other better. Your kid isn't just looking for good friends this year. They get to be one, the kid who walks over to the one who's left out and says, come sit with us.
This Monday episode hands kids three things to try this week: decide out loud one kind of friend you want to be, whisper a quick prayer to see who needs a friend, and ask the heart question, am I just looking for good friends, or am I willing to be one? About 5 minutes, kid-friendly, with a discussion question to land on together.
