“When you are blessed to love a wild heart, the real gift is letting it swim free.”
We arrive at the Inn to find the Keeper in the midst of a mild flood and she sends us up to the bathroom on the seventh floor, where we surprise Andora, the maitre'd of the Inn. She shows us the beauty of the bathroom and we promise her secret is safe with us as she sneaks back from a break. While drawing the water up to the perfect bath, we look through one of the glass cabinets with many glass bottles within. One of these bottles opens to transport the tiny ship inside to the outside and we meet Gil: the mermanatee captain of the ship in a bottle. We hear about his lovesick tale of the Selkie Bride while we snack on sweet potatoes and we are reminded to treasure our wildness, rather than allow others to steal it from us. Gil gives us a conch shell as a gift to calm the winds of our lives and when we blow it, he returns to the bottle, safe and sound. Roisin the waiter…………Josie Eli Herman
