In October 2018, a 29-year-old outdoorsman named Jordan Grider walked into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) wilderness in Northern Minnesota and never walked out. He wasn't reported missing. He wasn't on a canoe trip. He was trying to disappear from society entirely. He almost succeeded.
When investigators finally pieced together what happened, they found only 13 bones. No skull. No explanation for what, or who, found him first.
