FOOTBALL IS BACK. The 2026 NFL season is officially here, and apparently the schedule makers decided we didn’t need a warm-up.
We’re opening the entire season with a SUPER BOWL REMATCH between the Patriots and Seahawks. Seven months after Seattle beat New England 29-13 to win the Lombardi, Drake Maye gets an immediate shot at revenge in the exact same building.
The Seahawks get to raise the banner at home and begin their title defense with Sam Darnold and reigning Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba, but the Super Bowl MVP is gone. Kenneth Walker III is now in Kansas City, Zach Charbonnet is still working his way back, and rookie Jadarian Price could get thrown directly into the fire in his first NFL game.
The Patriots spent the offseason making sure Drake Maye never has to fight that Seattle defense empty-handed again. A.J. Brown is somehow a Patriot, Romeo Doubs is there too, and New England gets its first chance to prove that last February was the beginning of something — not the end of it.
Seattle opened as a 4.5-point favorite and that number has been bet down around a field goal. The Seahawks are trying to start a dynasty. The Patriots have had seven months to think about 29-13. And we get all of it on NIGHT ONE.
