Currys PLC’s investor presentation highlights the company’s strategy, financial performance and growth opportunities as an international market leader in omnichannel technology retail and services across the UK, Ireland and the Nordic countries. With annual revenue of almost £9.5 billion, more than 700 stores and leading market positions, Currys is focused on improving profitability, generating strong free cash flow and delivering sustainable shareholder returns. Its strategy centres on colleague engagement, an easy-to-shop customer experience and building long-term customer relationships through services and solutions. Growth opportunities include ID Mobile, protection and repair services, business-to-business (B2B) sales, emerging technology and new product categories, expanding the company’s total addressable market beyond traditional electrical retail. Recent trading demonstrates continued momentum, with like-for-like sales growth of 6% in the UK and Ireland and 9% in the Nordics for the four months to the end of August. Management is targeting EBIT margins of at least 3%, supported by disciplined cost control, gross margin improvement and a recovery in Nordic profitability. Currys has also significantly strengthened its balance sheet, moving from substantial pre-COVID debt to a net cash position, while reducing annual pension contributions and maintaining disciplined capital expenditure. Its capital allocation strategy prioritises financial resilience, investment in growth, a progressive ordinary dividend and share buybacks. With at least £85 million in shareholder returns planned for the current financial year, Currys aims to build on its improved financial position, grow profits and free cash flow, and deliver sustainable long-term value for investors.
