Gunman Chad Williams, 24, killed three people and wounded seven on August 1 before dying of a self-inflicted gunshot after armed citizen Jordan Salinas and an off-duty Idaho state trooper returned fire and drove him off. Motive still under investigation — is this another sign of the rising wave of terrorist-style attacks on American soil?
#2 – President Trump calls Iranian leadership “unbelievably duplicitous.” Tehran asked for (some say begged for) a meeting and talks were set to begin, only for Iran to turn around and claim no discussions are happening at all — just talks with Oman over the Strait of Hormuz.
#3 – Trump issues a stark warning after roughly 60,000 migrants surged into Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta from Morocco in a single massive wave. He says Spain’s open-border policies created the catastrophe and that the same thing will look “small-time” compared to what hits the U.S. if Democrats regain power.
#4 – Disgraced former top COVID official Anthony Fauci could be held in contempt of Congress this week. He invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times (reports put it at 111+) during last week’s Senate Homeland Security hearing chaired by Rand Paul. The committee votes on the contempt resolution this week.
