The notes are fueling fresh controversy over claims that Fauci prioritized his public image while private writings raise serious new questions about the pandemic’s origins and his crisis response. When pressed, Fauci repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment and refused to answer any substantive questions.
Also: Reconciliation 3.0 is on the table—a $95 billion partisan budget framework backed by President Trump that prioritizes defense, agriculture aid, and election integrity incentives. The House passed its version in late July, but Senate leaders face a razor-thin path and internal division to get it done before the August recess, which is just days away.
