تبدأ القصة كمعظم الحميات النزفية بصداع وإرتفاع في الحرارة وألم ظهر .. أعراض عامة تشبه الإنفلونزا ، ولكن في اليوم الخامس - وكل الحميات النزفية تنزف في اليوم الخامس - تبدأ أعراض إصابة الفيروس للكبد حيث يحول خلايا الكبد إلى عجين بلا ملامح .
إنه لون الصفراء الذي يغزو كل شئ ومنه اشتق اسم الحمى ، ثم النزف من الأغشية المخاطية ومن فتحات الجسم .. تبدأ الهلاوس وعلى الأرجح يكون الموت هو النهاية ..
