What do you do when you’ve prayed, trusted, and waited—but the answer still hasn’t come? When prayers go unanswered, it can be hard to know how to keep faith and hope alive.

In this episode, I’m joined by Lauren Gaskill, author of Until the Miracle Comes and founder of She Found Joy. Lauren shares honestly about years of chronic illness, infertility, and learning to trust God through a long process of healing and unanswered questions. We talk about how to keep praying when you feel weary, why lament is part of a healthy faith, and how to recognize the ways God is at work even when you don’t see the breakthrough you’ve been asking for.

One of my favorite parts of this conversation is Lauren’s practical habit of revisiting old journals to remember how God has answered prayers in the past. We also talk about asking a different question in the waiting: “God, how are You meeting me here?”

In this episode, we talk about:

Starting again when you feel disappointed in prayer

Living from your identity as God’s beloved child

Being honest with God about sorrow and unanswered questions

Countering the lie that nothing has changed

Finding hope in God’s presence rather than a specific outcome

Keeping a simple record of God’s faithfulness

Habit of Hope: Write down a prayer, a reminder of God’s faithfulness, or a way you’ve seen Him at work. Return to those notes when waiting feels long.
