Violence is a tool used by empire to keep people subjugated. It is expressed through all systems of oppression in different ways--white supremacy, patriarchy, heterosexism, and ableism all require violence to sustain themselves. How do we maintain the inherent dignity of all people when violence is the dominant political narrative?
